ToRights

I may revise this, but it kinda works.

DeathBoy - ToRights

(yes, partially a play on setting the world To Rights, and partially a play on my filthy mouth)

01 - The End Begins Again (DeathBoy vs The Phil)
02 - So I Said You Died
03 - Beautiful
04 - Fine Day to be a Humanoid
05 - This Time Again
06 - Zombie Overlords
07 - All He Has to Do (Piano Glitch Jam)
08 - Bugs (DeathBoy vs The Phil)
09 - Machinegun
10 - Oldskool Revolution
11 - At My Best
12 - End of an Error (DeathBoy vs The Phil)

ZIP of the album (72mb)

The whole album IS, as far as I'm concerned, Public Domain.

I would have included the appropriate tags explaining usage, but thanks to the ragging I took from Andy "IP Crusader" Oakley, last time I tried to put something in the land of politely shared data, I'll pick out a license when I can be arsed.

But, if you like it, please do burn CDs, copy it to friends' iPods, link to us.

MySpace
Facebook
Bebo
VampireFreaks

There's more free music HERE

And you can get DeathBoy CDs HERE

... it's totally fine if you don't buy the music, but if you can take a few seconds to link us / friend us / hook us up, that helps and is appreciated.

Thanks for the music, again. Muchos appreciated, as always. :)

And yes, That Man is the sole reason why I need to explore LJ killfile options, because the mere sight of his user icon is now enough to inspire burning rage and the desire to smash things. And you know how placid I usually am. Sympathies.

Adblock? :)

He's a prick. I was told by enough people, and said "he's always been perfectly civil to me", until he then launched some freakish attack on me for daring to put out music under a license he considers futile.

Still makes my blood boil when i accidentally meander into one of his self-important ejaculations on friends' LJs, gushing his tiny-minded, self-assured hatred into people's lives. I hear tell of a greasemonkey script that will remove people from your LJ browsing experience entirely. He's worth that.

Yep, I need one of those, because everything I ever read that he's written makes me so angry. It doesn't help that he still owes one of my boyfriends a reasonable amount of money from when said boyfriend applied to join the company that AO worked for and decided to let AO claim the 'finders fee' despite having nothing to do with the new recruitment, on the understanding that it would be split 50/50. It never was. The excuse was 'well I have a new baby and money is tight'. Then don't spend money that isn't yours, you uppity self-righteous overweight ugly prick, and be grateful for the portion of it that was 'gifted' to you. It's no different to stealing from someone's wallet.

Argh, sorry, this is the wrong place to rant about this, but even without that, his ill-informed stupid opinions just rub me up the wrong way. I even once saw him suggesting (quite seriously and pompously) that closing Cheltenham Hospital to non-emergency patients and sending them to Gloucester was the best idea in the world, despite the fact that these two hospitals already have patient services divided between them in an attempt to cope with the huge number of patients that they both attract. How is it possible to be that kind of idiot and still hold down a well-paid job?

That level of arrogance and ugliness (I'm talking ugliness of personality here) is best avoided for the sake of good mental health. Grargh.

Yeah, not caring about making money from it shouldn't imply that one doesn't care about how their work is used.

Releasing material as public domain surely has the problem that another company could make a derivative work from your material, and then sue people for distributing that derivative work without their permission - whilst I'm not too bothered if someone is able to make money out of something I release for free, that possibility bothers me more so, so I wouldn't release as public domain unless I really didn't care about it (e.g., it was trivial, or I was happy to encourage commercial/closed derivatives).

One thing that bothers me is the idea of my work being commercially exploited in association with something I dislike (frankly, most advertising, etc).

If something i made were wanted for commercial exploitation, i would want to retain the right to veto this.

Which, in the eyes of the People's Bard, Oakley, makes me some kind of massive rapist cunt. How dare I consider such control to be my right?

Yet, I do. So sometimes I prefer CC licenses over PD.

It's possible to have something of a point and be such an arse about it that no-one wants to talk to you any more anyway. Imagine that!

I put pics on Wikimedia Commons under public domain if it's a picture of a thing, or CC-by-sa+GFDL if it's a picture of a person or there's actual creativity involved.

It's your stuff, a CC license is absolutely your call. There are pros and cons about it, but someone being c*ntish about it can bugger off.

[distinction: cunts are wonderful things, tasty and full of joy; c*nts are not.]

I've been pondering what to put and how to defend my husband. Simply I don't think I can because I am not technically minded and really have no opinion on the poltics of music. I do know that wasp factory has produced some amazing bands and I hope that they get the money they deserved to earn through gigs and cd(music data) sales.

Andrew is a good husband who has always provided for us. We have been married 3 years today. He is a wonderful father who spends as much time as humanly possible playing and looking after his daughter.

I noticed I was defriended by you as quickly as I removed andy after he had his crack at me, so I really don't care for your opinion either, frankly.

I don't for a moment suggest he's not a good partner or father, but he's someone I thought kindly of and now do not.

So, in response to a rant from someone you dislike, and whos opinion you disagree with, you've not done something you would otherwise have done?
Seems a bit like a shot in the foot, but hey, it's your stuff.

I look forward to downloading and listening. Ta

Would you like some biscuits with your passive-aggression?

no, I didn't waste my time picking out a license or tagging files with a notification because the last time I went to the effort, I got shot at for it, so this time I didn't bust a gut.

Can has remix packs?

I've been meaning to remix one of your choons for a while, I have an idea that will really irritate you make you chuckle, and might actually sound decent. I also appear (in theory at least) to actually have the time to do so for once in my life.

Oh, and I'm glad it's not just me.
